History of Koha Foods

Koha Food has a rich history that means a lot to our whole team. We started as a small grocery store back in the 1970 to grow to a huge business covering sales of a number of different product categories, from food and liquor to medical products and CBD. 1970

KOHA started as a Korean grocery store in Moiliili by Kenneth Chae.

1973

Mr. Chae converted KOHA into a Korean food distributor. "KOHA" came from KOrea and HAwaii. It is known in Korea as a famous Asian food import and export company.

1980

Koha Foods became a corporation in 1980.

1995

Koha Foods started its partnership with Binggrae. Binggrae is a South Korean company known for its gelato on a stick product called MELONA. Melona is an ice cream bar famous for its unique texture and fresh fruit taste. It is the best selling ice cream dessert in Korea. They are low in calories and sugar, no trans fat, gluten-free and comes in a variety of flavors. It gained popularity in Hawaii in 1995. Koha's agent Eighpoint introduced Melona to all Hawaii Costco stores. It is now available at all leading supermarkets and stores.

2009

Koha International Wine Imports was established.

2014

Asian Source Spirits LLC, a liquor company was established. It replaced Koha International Wine Imports, Inc., the company that used to carry beer and soju business.

2016

Uptime Imaging Solutions, Inc., a medical imaging solutions company was established. The business was formed for the sale of medical supply, machinery related to the medical profession and other products to individuals and businesses in the State of Hawaii

2/2/2018

Aloha Cones Kalihi LLC was organized. Aloha Cones provides simple and beautiful food that tastes as great as it looks. The food comes fresh and healthy gourmet of sushi, salads, and poke bowls.

4/27/2018

JNP Hawaii LLC was established. Operations to cut various meats started on June 25, 2018. The processing facility provides and offers consistent, cost-effective meat cutting for restaurants, custom and retail customers. Meat products are federally-inspected under USDA's guidelines. Lines of specialty include oxtail, chuck, rib, loin, sirloin, round, brisket, plate and flank cuts.

2019

Hawaii Natural Solutions, LLC was established. This company distributes the popularly known CBD products. CBD is an alternative pharmaceutical medication with no side effects. It is also oftentimes called miracle drug. 100% natural, never any synthetics, and no THC.
